One is the super magnetic separation technology, which is characterized by its speed and efficiency.
Flocculants and magnetic seeds are added to the water for magnetic coagulation. In this step, non-magnetic suspended matter in the water flow is wrapped by magnetic bodies, forming magnetic flocs. Subsequently, the rotating permanent magnetic disks continuously spin, attracting the suspended matter, which is then scraped off by magnetic scrapers, achieving separation of clear and turbid water. After using clean water as the treated effluent, it can undergo further treatment (such as ecological treatment, disinfection, etc.) or be discharged into water bodies. The sludge first undergoes magnetic floc disintegration to recover the magnetic seeds, while the remaining sludge is dewatered and transported for disposal. The hydraulic retention time of this technology is only 4-6 minutes.
Unlike traditional processes that rely on gravity for separating suspended matter, this technology uses rare-earth permanent magnets to transform passive sedimentation into active adsorption and removal, improving separation efficiency. The sludge obtained from super magnetic separation has a moisture content below 93%. The hydraulic retention time of the process does not exceed 5 minutes, and it occupies very little space. The entire set of equipment consumes only about 40 kW per day to treat 10,000 cubic meters of water.
The second is the magnetic-loaded sedimentation separation technology, which is characterized by high efficiency and stable operation.
After adding coagulants and magnetic seeds to the water, it enters the sedimentation tank to allow the suspended matter to complete the sedimentation and clarification process. The supernatant is the treated effluent, while the lower layer contains a mixture with magnetic seeds, which also need to be recovered. The remaining sludge requires further dewatering and disposal. The hydraulic retention time is 15-20 minutes, which, although longer than that of super magnetic separation, ensures relatively stable operation, reducing the suspended solids (SS) in the treated effluent to below 5 mg/L.
Magnetic separation water treatment technology, with its excellent sedimentation performance, efficiently and quickly achieves separation of clear and turbid water, effectively removes phosphorus, reduces COD, and other characteristics. It has been widely applied in the treatment of turbid circulating wastewater in steel metallurgy, water treatment in underground coal mining bunkers, dust suppression wastewater treatment in surface coal yards, and wastewater treatment in quarries.
